Classyc — the union of Classy and Classic — is a quiet ode to a Hanoi at once elegant and timeless.

Located on Hang Thung Street, one of Hanoi’s historic 36 streets, Classyc Hotel stands in the heart of the Old Quarter, surrounded by layers of history and cultural heritage.

The name Hang Thung traces its origins to the traditional craft of making and trading containers and household wares from bamboo, rattan, and wood. Passed down through generations, these crafts and ways of life helped shape the street’s distinctive identity. Hang Thung also holds a place in the capital’s historical memory, closely associated with Hanoi’s defining transition in October 1954.

Drawing inspiration from this heritage, Classyc embraces the image of a Vietnamese woman in a conical hat carrying a traditional shoulder pole with wooden containers as a signature of its identity. Once a familiar sight along the streets of old Hanoi, this humble image is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, reflecting the understated beauty, resilience, and gracious hospitality of the Vietnamese people.
